The Municipal Museum of Molins de Rey is a museum of local history that reflects the history, culture and craftsmanship of the population of Molins de Rey, in the district of Bajo Llobregat, and of the neighboring territories closest to the municipality. The museum, which is part of the Network of Local Museums of the Diputación de Barcelona, was created in 1953 in a space of the Textile Factory of Can Samaranch by its director, Enric Madorell i Claramunt (1897-1990) and in 1968 it was moved to its current headquarters.

In 2011 it moved its headquarters to Ca n’Ametller with the aim of becoming a center of quality services and available to all citizens. Its activity will focus on the conservation, documentation and dissemination of local heritage
