A Force from the Past

An exhibition that brings contemporary art into dialogue with the past

Expomon produced the exhibition “A Force from the Past”, on view at CaixaForum Barcelona from 23 September 2026 to 10 January 2027. The exhibition features mainly works from the ”la Caixa” Foundation Contemporary Art Collection that revisit, reinterpret or question images and forms from earlier eras. Its title comes from a poem by Pier Paolo Pasolini.

Exhibition design in service of the artworks

The exhibition route invites visitors to discover connections between contemporary works and paintings, sculptures and visual culture from the past. The exhibition design brings this dialogue into the gallery space, helping visitors understand the works and the connections between them.

Exhibition production and on-site coordination

Expomon was responsible for exhibition production and coordinating the work in the gallery. Its work included adapting modular walls, painting the gallery, fabricating a display case and plinths, and integrating audiovisual elements.

Coordinating this work brought the elements of the visitor route together into a coherent whole that serves the artworks and the exhibition’s narrative.
