Work and women, the transformation process from an agrarian to an industrial village, the evolution of work and its impact are some of the major themes presented by the new Museum of Work and Industrial Life (MTIV), which has main the Vapor.
The new Santa Perpètua Museum opens next March 4. The facility will be opened to the public after the architectural rehabilitation of the large ship and the adjoining buildings of Vapor Aranyó, the only preserved textile factory located in the center of the municipality that gave rise to the initial industrialization in Santa Perpètua. A rehabilitation that has included the realization of the new museum project and the urbanization of its surroundings with the new square of March 8.
The MTIV has two headquarters in two emblematic buildings of high heritage value in the municipality: the modernist building of the Soldevila Farm and the rectory of the church of Santa Maria de Santiga. The new exhibition space of the Farm will be inaugurated on March 11.
