Mammuthus. La Canonja
At Expomon, we took part in the museographic production of Espai Mammuthus, the new archaeological interpretation centre dedicated to the Barranc de la Boella site — an educational and interactive space that brings visitors closer to the lives of the first hominids and the fauna that inhabited this territory more than one million years ago.
The exhibition offers an immersive journey through human evolution and the prehistoric landscape of the Camp de Tarragona region, combining original fossils, recreations, audiovisual resources, and interactive technologies to create an educational and sensory experience for all audiences. Among the highlights are the mammoth tusks discovered during the excavations at Barranc de la Boella, considered one of the main attractions of the exhibition space.
Exhibition Production and Installation
At Expomon, we carried out various museographic production and technical execution works for the project, helping to transform the scientific narrative into an accessible, educational, and contemporary exhibition experience.
The project included:
- Manufacture and installation of museographic elements and exhibition furniture
- Production and integration of display cases and supports for original archaeological pieces.
- Development and installation of exhibition graphics and interpretive resources.
- Coordination of production, installation, and technical adaptation of the spaces.
- Implementation of solutions focused on durability, accessibility, and visitor experience.
The museography combines scientific content, digital resources, and interactive elements to explain how the earliest human groups lived, how they made their stone tools, and their relationship with the environment and the Pleistocene fauna.
Museographic innovation and scientific dissemination
Espai Mammuthus has been conceived as a scientific and heritage outreach space capable of connecting research, education, and user experience. The project integrates interactive and audiovisual resources, as well as educational proposals designed for both individual visitors and school groups and family activities.
At Expomon, we specialize in museographic production, exhibition fabrication, and the development of cultural spaces, offering comprehensive solutions for museums, interpretation centers, and exhibition projects that transform knowledge into real, innovative, and memorable experiences.
