CCCB presents the temporary exhibition on the work of William Kentridge “What is not drawn” The exhibition presents for the first time the complete series of eleven animation films Drawings for Projection, a series that the artist began in 1989 and which he introduced to internationally in the art world. Kentridge finished City Deep, the eleventh film in the project, during confinement and can be seen for the first time in Europe at the CCCB show. Through animation, drawing, film, music or theater, the South African artist William Kentridge has built a tentacular work, which mixes techniques and disciplines. The show is a unique opportunity to view some of Kentridge’s most iconic works: large-format tapestries, the striking audiovisual installation More Sweetly Play the Dance, and the entire series of eleven animated short films Drawings for Projection. The CCCB is the first place in Europe where Kentridge’s latest film, City Deep, is premiered.
