The director of the Culture Department of the "la Caixa" Banking Foundation, Ignasi Miró; the researcher of the Center National de Recherche Scientifique, Sibylle Emerit (in representation of the curatorial team formed by eight commissioners); and the director of CaixaForum Madrid, Isabel Fuentes, today presented Musics in Antiquity, an extraordinary exhibition resulting from the joint work of several experts from different French institutions and universities from the collections of the Musée du Louvre.
From Iran to Gaul, the miraculously preserved remnants of instruments, fragments of musical notations and the many performances of performers that have survived to this day evoke the sounds of three thousand years of history (from 2900 BC to 395 AD). C.). The exhibition brings together a set of unique pieces of sensitive and delicate beauty: instruments and scenes reproduced in three dimensions in Greek vases, mosaics and coins.
